Santa Ponsa has two beaches. The main beach, known as Playa Santa Ponsa, is wide and has all the usual amenities including volleyball nets and water sports. It can become crowded in high season. Behind the beach is a long promenade punctuated with cafés and bars. And behind the promenade is a pine wood that is even home to a number of parakeets.
Unlike other resorts on Mallorca’s south-west coast, many of which have an English (or German) atmosphere, in Santa Ponsa the feeling is more Celtic, as the town has become very popular with Scottish and Irish visitors. In response to this, a large number of both Irish and Scottish themed bars and restaurant have opened.
From Santa Ponsa’s main beach and marina regular boat trips embark to sail along Mallorca’s south-west coast. The boats are modern and the trips represent good value for money.
