Set on the northeast coast of Mallorca to the south of Alcudia, Ca’n Picafort is a purpose-built resort with wide, palm-studded streets that are home to plenty of bars and restaurants. Here all is very relaxed, ideal for wondering around the small town at a leisurely pace. However the focal point and major feature of Ca’n Picafort is the beach, which boasts an incredible 13 kilometres of sand.

In Ca’n Picafort all roads lead to the beach. Shops, bars and restaurants align along the palm-lined promenade which fronts a seemongly endless stretch of white shoreline. The beach slopes gradually into waters which are calm enough to suit even the very young. There is also an extensive range of watersports available.

In Ca’n Picafort everywhere is in easy walking distance. The main street is called Paseo Colon, a long parade of shops, restaurants and bars leading to the harbour, where the very best of the seafood restaurants are tro be found. And down by the beach, there’s a choice of well-established pubs, bars and discotheques.

Just 20 minutes’ drive north of the town lies the major centre of Alcudia. This excellent coastal resort boasts a smart marina that’s perfect for a top class lunch. About 2 miles inland there’s the walled town of old Alcudia. Here, you can wander through the narrow Medieval-style streets to the impressive San Jaume Church. Nearby is the old Roman area of Pollentia with excavations of a Roman amphitheatre, witness to the area’s historic past.
